WIND RIVER MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL

Surly Pika Adventure Race is part of the annual Wind River Mountian Festival, which celebrates Pinedale's designation as Wyoming's first Continental Divide Trail Gateway Community.

The Continental Divide runs along the entire spine of Wyoming’s largest mountain range, the Wind River Range. The Wind Rivers boast 19 of Wyoming’s 20 highest peaks, over 180 active glaciers (including the largest glaciers in the Rockies), and over 3,000 pristine alpine lakes within its half-million acres of Federally-designated Wilderness. This area is classified as one of the most intact, undisturbed wild natural areas left on our planet. Pinedale sits nestled in the very heart of the Wind River Mountains, a true gateway to outdoor adventure.
